Winter in New England
Safe beneath me
Sleeping soundly, mother earth in rest
Snow is falling, slumber calling
All young leave the nest
Haunted by ignorance
Plagued by my innocence
Hurt is the sixth of sense
Raining down
Trees will whisper
Cold night sorrow
Captured in the sky
Chasing shadows
Human arrows
Faces tell the lies
Swim through the streets in trance
Cloaked in their elegance
Snowflakes give way to dance
Raining down
Messengers of memories
Isolated by the freeze
Losing breath in a frozen gaze
Why does no one feel this way
Winter saves me from my coma
Candles light the way
Autumns children, bathed in crystal
Moonlight saves the day
Though I will never know
Where will we ever go
Journeys through ice and snow
Raining down, Raining down, Raining down, Raining down, Raining down,
Raining down, Raining down, Raining down, Raining down, Raining down,
Raining down
